A Different Shade of Red (roses)

The beautiful red rose is always a Valentine's Day favorite. And with February 14th just around the corner, it seems like a good time to take a look some of our favorite red roses.

The quintessential red rose is the Freedom rose, shown above. In a perfect bright red hue (think lipstick red), the Freedom rose has wonderfully shaped petals that make it a true classic.

Two deeper hued red roses are Black Magic and Black Baccara. The Black Magic rose while not actually black, is a beautiful dark red rose. Black Magic (shown below) has large blooms and rich velvety petals.

The darker Black Baccara (shown above) is a deep burgundy, almost black rose. Black Baccara is the darkest natural rose. While somewhat smaller in stature than the Black Magic rose, Black Baccara makes up for its size with its dramatic color.
