Winter holiday style

Interested in adding a seasonal touch for your winter wedding or event? Use of greenery, textures and the choice of color palette are all a great way to bring the winter season to your bouquets and floral arrangements.

To create a winter holiday look, begin with winter seasonal foliages. Cedar, pine, spruce and other winter greenery make a great arrangement base this time of year. Next, add winter textures such as berries, twigs, pods and other accents for depth and detail. Additionally, consider your floral color palette when connecting to the season. Beyond the traditional red, white and green, consider palettes such as: burgundy and cream, white and icy silver, deep reds, whites and greens, and rich jewel tones. Need some ideas? Check out our website to see our seasonal creations.

Whether you are ready to create your own combinations or prefer to have us create something unique for you, contact us at either location or online. We’re ready to bring a little winter to you!

Terrarium Love

Wondering how to care for a succulent terrarium? Place the terrarium in a bright location, ideally near a window with lots of indirect sunlight. Succulents and cactus require very little water, just a dribble every couple of weeks or so, and even less in winter. Let dry completely between waterings. Remove any dry leaves as needed. If your terrarium includes a tillandsia (air plant), remove to soak in water for a half hour or so about once a week.

Care: Bright, Indirect Light • Very Low Water • Ave indoor temperature

Planning your wedding: first steps

At Sammy’s, we love weddings of all sizes; and whether you are a party of two or two hundred, we can help you plan your special event. Wondering how to start the process? We generally recommend you begin planning your wedding flowers about 6 months in advance of your wedding date. Typically, brides select their venue(s) first, as this often influences your floral needs.

Here's some things to consider when thinking about your flowers:
Do you have a color palette you want to work with?
When you think about your wedding style, how would you describe it?
Do you have any favorite flowers? (Or perhaps some non-favorites?)
What elements might you need, i.e. bridal party, ceremony, reception?

Our bridal consultants can help guide you through the creative process and work with you to create your custom wedding style. Ready to get started planning your flowers? Contact us at either store location or via email:  weddings@sammysflowers.com
