In the mix: dahlias
The dahlia season begins in early summer and extends generally to early October. Their vibrant colors and variety of shapes and sizes makes them a great focal flower that pairs well with smaller more delicate blooms. Beautiful both on their own, they are wonderful in textured mixes like the ones shown here. Now is the time to get your final dahlia fix for the season, before they are gone until next year.

Wedding style: Juliette garden rose
The lovely Juliette rose continues to be a favorite for our brides. This garden rose has a perfect cabbage shape and is the just right shade of soft peach. It pairs so well (as shown here) with the creamy Vendela rose and the alluring peach Finesse rose. Rounding out the mix is hydrangea, silver brunnia and dusty miller.

They can be used alone, combined with other greenery, or mixed with flowers as shown in our winter arrangements on our website. Pictured above are princess pine and blue ice. Summer sunshine
Right now, one of our most popular flowers is the classic summer sunflower. Whether presented with height, or in a low arrangement as shown here, the sunflower practically defines bright and cheerful. Those who love sunflowers often comment that they just seem so very happy. And many have childhood (and adult - Tuscany, anyone?) associations with sunflowers. Look for variations including: green and brown centered, large and mini sized, teddy bear and bi-color. Ready to bring a smile to someone’s face, or a pop of sunshine into your home? We would be happy to make you a cheerful mix.

In season: anemones
Are you crazy for anemones? At Sammy’s, we are. Part of the ranunculus family, anemones are a fascinating flower. They have long, sinewy necks and beautiful green collars. Sometimes they are shy, but with a little coaxing, you can get them to smile. Place closed anemones in lukewarm water and watch them open up before your eyes. Once open, you will see their lovely center of blue, black or green. Want to bring some home? We currently have them in stock in vibrant red, magenta and violet blue.
