Cheating winter, a bit...

Somehow it already feels like springtime in Portland. Our winter has been mild, and we are already starting to see early signs of spring. The flowering branches have arrived. We currently have quince and forsythia, and expect to see plum soon. Winter/spring bulbs are in our mixes, look for lots of tulips and hyacinth. Want a little early springtime, too? Choose a spring palette of peach, soft pinks, pale yellows, or even a pop of bright pink or orange to liven your mood. Because it is really still winter...

Wedding style: Juliette garden rose

The lovely Juliette rose continues to be a favorite for our brides. This garden rose has a perfect cabbage shape and is the just right shade of soft peach. It pairs so well (as shown here) with the creamy Vendela rose and the alluring peach Finesse rose. Rounding out the mix is hydrangea, silver brunnia and dusty miller. 

Wedding style: dramatic bridal bouquets

Not all bridal bouquets have to be white, these wedding bouquets use dramatic color palettes with deep shades of plum, burgundy and eggplant. The first bouquet shown combines rich reds, copper and burgundy, with accents of peach.  The second picture shows bridal and bridesmaid bouquets in deep eggplant and blue gray. The third example below is combination of silver, plum, burgundy and cream.

In Season: winter foliages

As winter approaches, foliages are a great way to add seasonal interest to arrangements. We like to add many varieties with different shapes, textures and colors to our designs. They can be used alone, combined with other greenery, or mixed with flowers as shown in our winter arrangements on our website. Pictured above are princess pine and blue ice. Memorials to honor

Shown here are two traditional memorial arrangements in whites and green. The top picture is a standing spray arrangement, the bottom a standing memorial wreath. In season: berries and pods

The fall season delights with an abundance of berries, fruits and seed pods that add bursts of color to autumnal arrangements. Shown from top to bottom: Ilex, pepper berry, rose hips, and beauty berry. Ilex berry comes in vibrant yellowish and peach hues, in addition to the classic red. The dainty pepper berry ranges from green to orange to red. The larger rose hip fruit also comes in green, orange and red with a variety sizes and stem lengths. The show stopper beauty berry wows with its bright purple color.
