Flowers to wear

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and next is the wedding season. But lately at Sammy’s, it has been All About Prom. Remember yours? What you wore? We would like to think we’ve been doing a modern twist on the traditional corsage. This one has a blast of color with bright fuchsia orchids and vibrant green trix, a perfect match to a little black dress.

In-season: lilac and dogwood

The spring lilac and dogwood have arrived and we’re so excited. At Sammy’s Flowers, we love in-season, locally grown blooms. And right now our shops are filled with these lovely spring favorites.

Fresh cuts, both horizontal and vertical on the branch stem will help them hydrate properly. And as always recommended, clean water in the vase changed frequently prolongs the life of the cut stems.

Celebrating Spring

The dogwood branches have finally arrived (and a little early this year, too!) We’re celebrating spring the best way we know how, with gorgeous spring branches. Dogwood, cherry, prunus, and lilac are some of our seasonal favorites. Whether alone in a large tall vase, or added to a springtime mix as shown here, spring branches add an airy sophistication to floral designs. This combination uses dogwood, fringed tulips, hydrangea, stock, ranunculus, and parrot tulips.

Floral tributes

This tribute wreath was created for Memorial Day with a red, white and blue theme. Tribute wreaths and sprays can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes. The color palette chosen often reflects in some way the person the design is in tribute for. The standing sprays shown below show three distinct color palettes.
